back on the road again....hallelujah! california sunny rolling hills and orchards trucks winding slow keep the eyes on the white lines even with head in the clouds...follow the trail of volcanoes toward bliss...rick driving i play dj offering a hearty stew of riot grrrls robyn hitchcock and david bowie...perfect way to start a coast to coast tour....stop for the night in ashland, OR on the way to portland...we get to stay in the best hotel ever because (apparently) this is off season and everything is cheap...i am immersed in free eye cream, complimentary soap, fluffy feather pillows and hotel bathrobes....divine....now this is a funny story...i have a show in ashland on sunday night...we decide to check out the venue...well wouldn't you know that the gig seems to have been cancelled....hmmmm....nice of them to mention it....we stroll around muttering curses buy some brazilian cachaca (my new fave) then stumble into a cute little wine bar downtown for some tastin...this is where we meet [...]
